Certification Process
Every official is evaluated periodically to confirm they are up-to-date with the latest techniques and rules in an effort to provide a fun and safe playing environment for everyone.
Each year officials must submit to a background check and pass the NFHS volleyball exam with a 70% or higher to be able to officiate with the HCVOA.
As part of the certification process, each official must be fingerprinted for their background check and obtain identification cards showing they have been cleared under the Jessica Lunsford act. The fingerprinting must occur every 5 years and has a cost associated with the process.
